Above picture: A modern Philips XGS103 and old Thorn Alpha 9 with deep bowl on the same telegraph pole in Cardigan, South Wales. The Alpha 9 is “day-burning” (i.e. shining all day due to a photocell fault) — the colour appears more orange than it really is because of daylight and camera effects. May 2004.
