ELECO

The name ELECO stood for Electric and Lighting Equipment Company (ref: Colin Grimes)

See also Philips for information on the GR100, GR150 and GR200, which they made at first before being continued by Eleco. The letters “GR” in the model numbers stand for Goldenray — no doubt a reference to the golden colour of the SOX light that these lamps give off. Where the weights are given they are without gear unless otherwise specified.

Sometimes with Eleco lanterns, different catalogue numbers exist for the same design for gear/without gear variations, or according to the type of lamp — sodium, mercury etc.
